Arranged at short notice with Adrian:

Starting at the monument just N of Hawkesbury Upton, we headed S, bearing off onto a muddy track (great start - covered in crap after 5mins cycling ), back onto the road, down a bridleway and - where the trail hit the A46, there seemed to be a bit of an MTB "playground" with dips, ledges, walls, trees, etc. What else could we do but stop & play a while?

I took 2 refusals at one ledge where Adrian fearlessly (stupidly?) led, before I plucked up the bottle - AND survived.

The rest of the trail was fairly humdrum - albeit enjoyable. Even crossing the airstrip was totally uneventful!

10.8 miles in 1hr 50mins elapsed time. The women's Olympic MTB trail was 31km which they did in about the same time!

Good way to spend a Sat am.
